Change Your Life
By Eileen Hebert

All across America millions of people awoke this morning feeling as though they are in a rut.  Are you one of them?  Before getting out of bed did you lay there dreading the day, feeling tired before you even got up?

If asked what these people are dreading the responses will vary.  However, most of these people would say that their dreads are focused around the individual’s job and/or responsibilities.  It seems that many people feel overwhelmed by the daily grind.  They would love to “get ahead” but “just keeping up” seems to get in the way of that.

It’s a vicious cycle.  The day starts with these people feeling as though they are somehow behind.  If for some reason they are actually running late the stress is greatly multiplied.  People in this group seem to always be thinking about what else they need to do – what’s next on their list.  Because they are always on the go, always busy at some task they get a tremendous amount of work done but it is never enough.

High standards have been set for this group.  Some individuals in this group claim that others expect too much of them.  Regardless of how the lifestyle began it is obvious that it does exist – this group strives to do more than is humanly possible.  It’s almost like a dog chasing its tail, these people never get caught up because their list of things to do is endless.  They expect more of themselves than most of us do.

The pressures felt build over time.  Some people end up feeling depressed while others’ blood pressure elevates and the individual experiences related medical ailments.  A few individuals will completely adjust to this lifestyle without any ill effects and still others will eventually decide that they will not live their life this way.  They seek a better existence.

It is this group that will become successful entrepreneurs.  Starting their own business is perhaps the easiest thing they ever do.  They have the required characteristics and drive built in.  There is no question about their motivation.  They are striving for success in a business and a lifestyle.

As these individuals take control of their life they realize that they are in charge of their time.  They set the standards for themselves and their business.  Excitement builds as they see the positive changes taking place in their lives.  They no longer dread the days but instead, they look forward to each and every day realizing each day brings with it a new opportunity for the growth of one’s business and changes in one’s life.

This is quite a contrast to the dread once felt by the individual.  Rather than feeling as though one is in a rut the individual now has something to nurture, something that will mature over time.  As effort is put into the growth of the business the individual reaps new benefits – sometimes in the form of increased wealth, sometimes in the form of increased recognition, and sometimes in the form of less time required to run the business.

A constant benefit and advantage the individual finds in entrepreneurship is the personal growth experienced due to taking charge of one’s life.  The vicious cycle is ended and is replaced with a sense of accomplishment and motivation.  She is now happier, healthier and in most cases, wealthier because she was willing to take control of her life.

Eileen,
I really enjoyed our session. All the ideas you had for me will defiantly help my business grow and establish me as an expert in my field. You have really encouraged me and inspired me to be creative and to think of so many ways I can generate more business. I have already used one of the ideas you gave me and am working on so many more. This past holiday weekend we had the best week at the store since it has opened and I know it is a direct cause of applying what we discussed.  I would definitely encourage anyone who needs some great advice and direction to work with you.  Please use my testimonial to encourage others. Thank you for your help.

Dear Eileen,
More was gained from my 90 minute consultation than from years of wading and wandering through the available information attempting to find a plan.  I felt understood as a unique individual.  The information and ideas learned were both inspiring and practical regarding opportunities I'd already wondered about plus many more I'd never considered.  There is clarity in the immediate steps I'm now taking doing things that I enjoy plus I learned of many resources I hadn't known existed to look into during the coming weeks and months.  Now, I have the beginnings of a flexible, workable plan and the awareness that I really can create the life I want to live and have the means to support that life.

Hi Eileen,
What a great idea! It's fresh and new and definitely has a lot of potential. I've never heard of anyone doing anything like that. And my husband could help me with the business cards as we have a computer program for that. Yes, I would definitely have to get a portfolio put together. Hmmm......there are a lot of possibilities with this idea. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I will definitely think about it. :-)
