Lesson Your Stress And Find True Success!
By Eileen Hebert
Life can be very demanding. We struggle to achieve
success in various ways. Most of us go to great efforts to get that “job of our dreams” only to find
that we have made a huge trade-off in the process. We get the job status and things associated with
that in trade for additional stress, perhaps less time with friends and family, and in some cases we may even give up other goals we had for
ourselves.
A favorite way of dealing with stress is spending spare time enjoying our
hobbies. The real problem is that our “spare time” seems to become less and less. The burdens of life, work and family tend to increase over time making each spare moment even more
precious.
Essentially we may find that we are “stuck” in a stressful lifestyle. In retrospect many of us would love the opportunity to change our careers but we are not sure how, and
furthermore, we’re not sure that another career path would be more rewarding. So we either resign to
the fact that “this is what it’s supposed to be like” or we decide to take a stand for ourselves and make the changes needed to live life to its
fullest.
If the latter choice is made one then wonders which direction to take. The goal is not only to achieve success but to also live life with less stress. Ultimately we all want to find contentment and happiness. The next
issue is how does one start working toward a less stressful lifestyle that will also result in success and fulfillment.
It is wise to begin by determining what it is that characterizes the ideal job to you, i.e.,
flexible hours, close to home, etc. You might also make a list of the things that you enjoy…then a
list of the things you have been missing out on. Next, use your lists to create your ideal job with
or around the things that you love.
Have you ever thought about how wonderful it would be to start your own business, to be your own
boss? Whatever your interests may be there are other people that are just interested as you are in
that topic. Because you have an interest in an area means that you know more about it than at least
some other people.
Consider starting a business based on providing information related to your favorite
hobby. This could be anything from dogs to kids to writing articles – the sky is the
limit! You do not have to be an expert to get started.
You will continue to learn as you go and your business will grow along the way.
Perhaps you have a particular craft item that you have created. Consider selling those for profit. Have you come up with an idea
that could be patented? Use your imagination!
When you are doing something you love you will never feel as though you are
working. Your hobby will be your work and vice versa. How awesome is that?! Imagine “working” from your own home,
setting your own hours, all while doing something you love! Less stress and success rolled up into one!
